Mental health

The number of people worldwide suffering from depression and/or anxiety now stands at 615 million. Mental health is a key focal point for the Faculty. We aim to improve the lives and prospects of those affected by mental health disorders by developing new treatments, finding cures, and training mental health experts.

Dementia costs the UK economy £26B, 850 million people in the UK have dementia.


850,000 people in the UK currently have dementia, which costs the UK economy £26 billion each year. Our research aims to tackle this national burden and improve the lives of those living with dementia and the people around them. Our training programmes will equip clinicians and researchers with the skills they need to make an impact.
