Dr Praveetha Patalay
Get to know Dr Praveetha Patalay.
Praveetha is currently Associate Professor with a joint appointment across the MRC Unit for Lifelong Health and Ageing and the Centre for Longitudinal Studies at UCL. She was the first PhD candidate to be affiliated with the EBPU (2011-2015), followed by a post-doctoral position at the Centre for Longitudinal Studies (2015-16) and a Lecturer/Senior Lectureship at the University of Liverpool (2016-18). She is interested in mental health through the lifecourse, including prevalence, development, antecedents, consequences and interventions to promote better mental health. She was awarded the British Psychological Society's 2015 Award for Outstanding Doctoral Research Contributions to Psychology.
Praveetha worked at the EBPU as Research Assistant (2010-11), was the unit’s first PhD student (2011-2014) and was Research Fellow (2014-15). Ongoing collaborations including on school based mental health intervention evaluations, secondary data analysis and co-supervising an EBPU PhD student.
