Journeys in Motion: celebrating migration stories at the IoN: workshop
Drawn from Home: Animated Recipes, a workshop celebrating diversity and mental health awareness
Overview
An interactive animation workshop that explores the politics of food, feasting, recipes, and community within the context of immigration. For many of us, the plate becomes one of the last remaining threads connecting us to a fractured or layered identity.
In this workshop, participants will create short, hand-made stop-motion sequences using paper cut-outs to animate a personal scene, whether remembered or imagined.
All equipment will be provided.
Please arrive on time for a prompt start.
- Doors open: 3.45pm
- Workshops starts: 4pm
Free ticketed event (max. attendance capped at 25 people)
Hosted by Amina Ben Ismail and Engy Jarrouj

centering less represented stories. Amina’s painting studio is in Walthamstow. She recently completed an art residency in Tunis, where she started a series of paintings around the culture of feasting on the beach in Tunisia.
