IoO Seminar Series with Jamie Ellingford
Title: The role of the non-coding genome in retinal health and disease
Jamie is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Manchester and Lead Genomic Data Scientist for Rare Disease at Genomics England. He leads the development of bioinformatics pipelines for the NHS Genomic Medicine Service, focusing on cataracts and retinal disorders. His research team uses multi-omics to study the genetic basis of rare eye diseases and AMD. Recently, they developed a deep sequencing resource that uncovered new non-coding genes linked to retinal disease and AMD risk.
