UG Linguistics Virtual Information Session
Attend our upcoming Undergraduate Linguistics Virtual Information Session to hear about our BA Linguistics and BSc Experimental Linguistics programmes.
Linguistics is the study of the capacity to use language. At UCL, students investigate the sound patterns (Phonetics and Phonology) and grammatical structures (Syntax) of the world’s languages, and how we create and use meaningful expressions (Semantics and Pragmatics). Students on our courses can explore a range of topics including language acquisition and processing, multilingualism, sociolinguistics, language evolution, and animal communication and can explore a range of experimentally-based disciplines (e.g., language acquisition, psycholinguistics, multilingualism).
We run the BA Linguistics and the BSc Experimental Linguistics courses here at UCL. During the session, you’ll hear from Admissions Tutor Klaus Abels and various lecturers on both courses. They’ll talk you through the various course structures, modules, career outcomes and life as a student in the department, UCL and London more widely.
We’ll also have student ambassadors who are current students on the course in the session so you’ll be able to pitch your questions to them and gain their valuable insights into why this is the course for you too.
We will be running two duplicate sessions of this event. This is the first session on Wednesday 15 October is over lunchtime between 12:30pm-1:30pm (BST) whilst the second repeated session on Wednesday 22 October is after work between 5:30pm-6:30pm (BST). Please attend the session that best suits your school, college and work schedules.
