Rashmi Mathew is a Consultant Ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma at Moorfields Eye Hospital and a Professor at UCL. She serves as the Programme Director for the MSc in Advanced Practice in Ophthalmology at UCL. Rashmi is passionate about modernising education for healthcare professionals and has led several transformative initiatives, including the use of infographics to enhance research communication, the development of virtual ophthalmic surgical skills training, the creation of an inclusive glaucoma curriculum, and authoring a widely utilized course on shared decision-making in ophthalmology. Her contributions to education have been highly recognized, earning her prestigious accolades such as the UCL Inclusion Award and the UCL Excellence in Teaching Award. In addition to her academic and clinical roles, she is the Honorary Co-Treasurer of the Medical Women’s Federation.
