Dr Chihiro Sato: Tau Kinetics and Biomarkers in Tauopathies

Dr Chihiro Sato

Assistant Professor of Neurology

Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis

Dr. Chihiro Sato's research focuses on understanding how tau kinetics and biomarkers change in tauopathies in humans and in neuronal models. She recently started her own lab and plans to expand her team in the next several years. Her goal is to contribute to basic discoveries that would lead to early diagnostics and treatment for tauopathies and other neurodegenerative diseases.

She also serves as Assistant Director of the Tracy Family Stable Isotope Labeling Quantitation (SILQ) Center led by Dr. Randall Bateman and new co-director, Dr. Miranda Orr. The center's mission is to establish a world-leading center utilizing mass spectrometry and other novel methods to discover neurodegenerative biomarkers in Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. The center also focuses on brain aging.
