Speech Science Forum - Georgina Brown

Georgina Brown

Lecturer

Lancaster University

I am a Lecturer in Forensic Linguistics at Lancaster University and a member of FACTOR (Forensic Linguistics, Cybersecurity and Technology Research). So far, my research has focused on forensic speech technology, voice data privacy, training and testing in forensic voice analysis, system explainability and the growing capabilities of AI-generated voices. I have worked on some of these topics in collaboration with external partners in industry and the public sector. A large proportion of my recent work has been carried out in conjunction with Soundscape Voice Evidence, an independent forensic speech analysis provider. Very soon, I will be taking this research expertise and incorporating it into the new and upcoming MSc in Forensic Linguistics & Speech Science (FLiSS) at Lancaster University.
