We are delighted to be hosting Dr Mary Sutherland, Senior Editor at Nature covering Social and Behavioral Sciences. Dr Sutherland will be visiting UCL on the 10th and 11th of October. During her stay she will be giving a workshop aimed at junior researchers on writing a research paper for a general audience, as well as more general talk on the editorial process at Nature / Nature portfolio. Dr Sutherland will also be available for individual meetings with PIs who would like to discuss their research. Please see below for more details.
This talk is intended to familiarise you with the editorial bar for Nature and the other journals in the Nature portfolio as well as describe the editor’s role in decision making and how you can maximise your chance of getting published with us. She will begin by describing the editorial bar for Nature and how it relates to the other journals in the Nature portfolio. She will then explain the editorial process from submission to acceptance and give tips for maximising the chances that your manuscript moves smoothly through to publication.
This will be the second event with Dr Sutherland. The first event will be a workshop and Q&A on 10th October, 3pm to 4:30pm. If you'd like to join the first event, please click here.
Given space limitations, it is necessary to sign up for each of the two events via Eventbrite.
If you have any questions or would like to arrange a 45-minute slot to discuss your research with Dr Sutherland, please contact Niko Steinbeis (n.steinbeis@ucl.ac.uk).
