Virtual: UCL Seminar - Mechanisms and rates of protein aggregation in living systems
Dr Georg Meisl (Department of Chemistry, University of Cambridge). Mechanisms and rates of protein aggregation in living systems.
Abstract: The quantification of protein-protein interactions in living systems is a major challenge in biophysics. I develop mathematical models of in vivo reactions to quantify the key processes in disease-related protein aggregation. I showcase this strategy by using patient data to determine the rates of tau seed formation in Alzheimer’s disease.
If anyone is interested in meeting with Georg before or after the talk, please contact Nicola Phillips (n.phillips@ucl.ac.uk) who is coordinating the meetings.
