Joining the Linden Lab
FInd out about how to join the lab as postdoctoral fellow, PhD student, research assistant or project student.
When available, postdoctoral positions, PhD studentships or pre-PhD research assistant positions in the Linden Lab are advertised here and on the UCL Ear Institute website, with instructions on how to apply.
Currently we are advertising a PhD studentship in auditory systems and behavioural neuroscience. The application deadline is 30 June 2025.
PhD students typically enter the Linden Lab through neuroscience PhD programmes at UCL, or else following a successful rotation in the laboratory as a UCL MRes or MSc student followed by an application for independent PhD scholarship funding. Please note that there are very few PhD scholarship opportunities available for non-UK/EU students, so international students interested in pursuing a PhD at UCL will most likely need to secure scholarship funding from their home country.
We offer one or two MSc or MRes research projects per year to talented and committed UCL students with a good quantitative background and a strong interest in neuroscience and/or hearing. Previous experience with computer programming (e.g., in Matlab or Python) is highly recommended.
We also offer short-term summer placements to secondary-school students through the In2scienceUK programme.
