We will be hosting two students on their 8-week full-time research placement as part of the In2Research programme. In2research is a year-long programme designed to enhance access to postgraduate research degrees and career opportunities for people from low socioeconomic backgrounds and under-represented groups, and we host the students on their research placement.

In 2024/2025 Dr Rohani Omar, Consultant and Audioverstibular Physician, together with Fei Long, Clinical Research Programme Manager (UCL Ear Institute, EvidENT), hosted student placement to provide insightful information into life of a PhD student.

In 2023 two participants in the scheme at the Ear Institute received nominations for awards at the 2022-23 Celebration Event:

• Style Award - Khadija Ahmed (Prestin and Otolin-1 as inner ear bio markers for Cisplatin-induced Hearing Loss / Marina Forbes & Anne Schilder / UCL Faculty of Brain Sciences - EAR Institute)

• Professor Jennifer Bizley and Louay Madanat were nominated for Hosts of the Year.
