What is DCALx?
DCALx is an exciting public event that showcases groundbreaking research on British Sign Language, literacy, and cognition. Inspired by TEDx, it features short, accessible presentations that spark discussion and bring research to life.
Whether you’re part of the deaf community, a student, a researcher, or simply interested in language and communication – DCALx is for you.
What to Expect
Bite-sized presentations (15-18 minutes each) from:
- Professor Kearsy Cormier
- Dr Patrick Rosenburg
- Dr Kate Rowley
Plus a chance to network after the talks – with refreshments provided.
Language and Accessibility
All talks will be delivered in British Sign Language. English voiceover interpretation will be provided throughout.
Registration
- Free to attend – but registration is essential
