Communications
On this page, you can find communication and branding resources for use by the Division of Psychiatry
Promoting your research
The DoP Communications Committee can help promote your research, education, public engagement activity, professional award etc. We can promote your work via our DoP X account, Linked In page, DoP news channels, and if appropriate, by working with the Faculty Media Relations team.
Please contact our Communications Officer Maria Thomas, in the first instance.
If you have a new publication coming out that requires a press release, then please get in touch with UCL Media Relations. Please ensure Maria Thomas, Communications Officer is cc’d in your email to UCL Media Relations so DoP Comms can ensure this is shared via DoP channels once the paper has been published. Their contacts are:
- Chris Lane, Media Relations Manager for Brain Sciences
- Poppy Danby, Media Relations Manager (Population Health Sciences, Brain Sciences)
Website and Social Media
The Division Communications Officer can support with the creation of new study websites and divisional page updates. We also offer local website editing training to researchers responsible for maintaining DoP research study webpages.
If you are wanting to set up a new research study website, please note this should be situated within the Division of Psychiatry website unless it is a cross-insititution project where UCL is not the lead. Please contact Maria with your request, along with a word document with the initial content for the page and any accompanying images and logos.
Social media
The Division of Psychiatry has it's own X account (@UCLPsychiatry), LinkedIn page and Youtube channel.
Please do tag the division in any news, awards and events that you would like to be shared/retweeted by the division. If you would like a specific tweet being shared about your research or publication, please use the division promotion form.
UCL CAM have created social media guidelines for staff including managing and scheduling social media, tone of voice and content creation. We recommend staff in charge of a UCL social media account read the section on 'responding to comments, trolling and incidents'.
If you would like a video to be uploaded to the Division Youtube channel, please send the file to Maria. Videos on Youtube are public so do be mindful of this if the content is sensitive and do seek the speakers/presenters permission before putting the video online.
If you would like to share your video to a restricted audience i.e. UCL only, we recommend you upload to UCL's MediaCentral platform instead.
