Prof Jo Hart and Prof Lucie Byrne-Davis talk to us about their upcoming keynote, and what they are most looking forward to at the conference.
We are delighted to welcome Prof Jo Hart and Prof Lucie Byrne-Davis from the University of Manchester as keynote speakers at the 2025 Behaviour Change Conference.
Their keynote, ‘The who and how of embedded behavioural research and practice’, will be on Thursday 3 April at 09:30.
Jo, Lucie, please tell us what your keynote will cover.
We’ll be sharing our experiences – and those of others – of working within health systems to use and research behaviour change. There will be a focus on health professional behaviour change as a key building block of strong health systems.
Sounds interesting! Who should watch your keynote and why?
Our keynote is for anyone aiming to conduct research that drives real-world impact. A key challenge in this type of work is balancing the needs of the science itself and generating evidence that is ‘just sufficient’ for people to use it.
We’ll also explore the challenges and benefits of working with complex health systems and international partnerships.
More generally, what you are looking forward to at the conference?
The CBC is the home of the Behaviour Change Wheel, which has been such a huge advancement in being able to work with organisations because we share a common language. We are looking forward to hearing about the Behaviour Change Intervention Ontology (BCIO) and other advancements.
More than anything, we are looking forward to connecting with colleagues working in behavioural science, and taking inspiration from the conference to improve our work.
