How long have you been in the Faculty of Brain Sciences and what is your current role?
I have been the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Coordinator since March 2022.
What aspect of your work most excites you and why?
Learning excites me as you never know too much when engaging in Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion. As the world and our immediate community are changing rapidly, my work is too- which means I can always expect something new to contribute towards and even lead on. Working with a mixture of colleagues across the Faculty and broader UCL community to promote equity and inclusive practices is also a bonus to my work.
What working achievements are you most proud of?
My favourite working achievement throughout my career was leading an Active Bystander Programme and training almost 10,000 students in the 2020/21 academic year to promote challenging bullying, harassment, and sexual misconduct.
Tell us something interesting about yourself that people might not know
When I lived in Norway, I thought the Northern Lights was an annual music festival, when it is an aurora display in the sky. I eventually saw the Northern lights in Tromsø, Norway without any music and it was the best experience ever!
