The mission of B_CALM@UCL is to foster the development of advanced approaches to imaging biological samples that range from complex whole organs and organoids to subcellular structures.
Light microscopy is under constant technical development and the spatial and temporal resolution that these instruments can deliver, in static or live imaging modes, is improving all the time. B_CALM@UCL aims at ensuring that the best instruments and expertise are available at UCL for the benefit of its research community.
In addition, approaches to break the resolution limit in light microscopy (300nm) dubbed super-resolution are now available. The research community at UCL can now benefit from a state of the art Super Resolution Facility (SuRF).
