CDB's Michael Wright has joined the UCL team cycling to Brighton to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation
Firstly, a sincere thank you to those who have already donated to Team UCL fundraising’s efforts in the London to Brighton cycle ride on June 15th. If you would like to support the British Heart Foundation, my rider donation link is here: https://www.justgiving.com/page/michael-wright-2.
UCL team lead Prof Lucie Clapp has put together the message below with a link to the team page (all donations are combined towards our collective goal of raising £3,500).
My total cycling distance on the day will be around 70 miles; I’ll be setting off to Brighton from UCL Anatomy Building and on the return, cycling home from Clapham (where the vans drop us off). The training is going well so far – the photo below was taken in Regent’s Park last Sunday where I managed 44 miles on a 1951 Raleigh Record Ace at an average speed of 14.4mph.

Thanks everyone!

Dear Colleagues,
We are starkly reminded by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) this week that "UK’s heart health has declined more quickly at the start of the 2020s than in any other decade for over 50 years".
UCL have put together a team of dedicated researchers, clinicians and friends, who are passionate about research and improving delivery of healthcare, to take on the challenge of the BHF sponsored London to Brighton bike ride on Sunday, June 15th, 2025. Please donate to aid a charity close to our hearts!
