Joint UGI-CBER funding to develop interdisciplinary tools for spatial biology and ecology modelling
6 May 2025
The Secrier and Murrell labs have received BBSRC funding to develop cross-disciplinary tools for spatial biology that take inspiration from ecological modelling.

The Transforming Research Technologies pump priming grant (£225,000) will provide 1 year of funding to develop new ecology-inspired methods for spatial omics to decode tissue organisation, cell-cell interactions and predict system resilience upon perturbation. These tools will be widely applicable across different areas of biology, including plant and animal development, immunology, disease, etc, and will also feed back into ecology applications.
