Helen Roy from UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology has been appointed as an Honorary Professor within the Research Department of Genetics, Evolution and Environment at the Centre for Biodiversity and Enviornment Research. We look forward to collaborating with Helen and colleagues at CEH over the coming years.

Helen's research focuses on the effects of environmental change, particularly biological invasions, on biodiversity and ecosystems. Helen also enjoys science communication and public engagement with research which led to her interest in citizen science.  She is president of the Royal Entomological Society and leads the UK Ladybird Survey collating information from a network of volunteer recorders. Her research on biological invasions has received international recognition and she is currently leading a global assessment on invasive non-native species for the Intergovernmental Panel on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services.
