Biosciences dispenses 420 chemistry kits to undergraduates to enable remote practical activity

420 chemistry kits for undergraduates

In a close collaboration with the UCL Chemistry Department, practicals for 1st year students taking the CHEM001X modules were replaced by students doing their experiments at home. Students were supplied with a Chemistry kit containing over 30 different components, ranging from a digital thermometer and multimeter, pH meter, flat-packed microscope, mechanical pipette , LEDs, photodiode and resistor and much much more!

The herculean task of preparing over 400 kits (that’s over 15 000 components) was an amazing achievement of Dr Bill Andrews (pictured with some of the kits) and Chandrani Apputhurai.
