Lamya Al Haj chosen for Young Global Leader award by the World Economic Forum

Congratulations to Lamya Al Haj, former SMB PhD student, on being chosen for this highly prestigious global award.
Lamya, now Assistant Professor at Sultan Qaboos University, did her PhD in the Purton group, SMB (2010–2014) working on the development of cyanobacteria as industrial biotech platforms.
She is a researcher in biodiesel alternatives to oil, a TEDx motivational speaker, and the founder of the speaker platform “Jalasat Mulhimoon” which showcases role models to inspire younger generations.
She is also the founder of “Coach4Change” which works alongside and is supported by senior government officials, CEOs, business leaders and boards to provide effective and tailored training and coaching to individuals and organizations to help them achieve their potentials and aspirations.
