Lecturer or Associate Professor in Microbial Genomics - Ref:1836108

The UCL Genetics Institute (UGI), and the Research Department of Genetics, Evolution and Environment (GEE), are seeking to recruit an outstanding individual developing world-class research in an area of Microbial Genomics.

The post holder will undertake independent and collaborative research examining aspects of the distribution of genetic diversity in microbial populations or communities. The post holder’s research interests may include, but are not restricted to: microbial evolution; microbial ecology; clinical microbiology; metagenomics. We particularly welcome applicants whose research takes advantage of advanced bioinformatic, statistical and computational tools.

The post holder will be encouraged to establish collaborations with colleagues working at UCL, both within GEE and the wider UCL community, as well as at related institutions in London, including: UCL-affiilated hospitals; the Zoological Society of London and the Natural History Museum. The successful applicant will also contribute to UCL's portfolios of graduate and undergraduate teaching.
