Postdoctoral Research Fellow sought for the Professor Gyorgy Szabadkai Mitochondrial Research Group
12 August 2019
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral Research Fellow position to join the Professor Gyorgy Szabadkai team as part of the Mitochondrial Research Group.
Professor Gyorgy Szabadkai (CDB, Francis Crick Institute) has been awarded a CRUK Pioneer Award with collaborators Mariia Yuneva (Francis Crick Institute), Nick Jones (Imperial College) and Payam Gammage (CRUK Beatson Institute) for the project entitled 'Specific targeting of tumour mitochondrial DNA for cancer gene therapy’.
The project will explore whether tumour-specific elimination of mtDNA, carrying unique homoplasmic mutations, can be exploited to inhibit tumour growth and/or increase the therapeutic efficacy of appropriate chemotherapies.
