The UCL Division of Biosciences has been awarded an Athena SWAN bronze award in recognition of it's commitment to advancing equality, diversity and careers.
ISMB Friday Wraps provide a forum around which to relax and get to know other members of the Institute. They also facilitate communication among postdocs and students. Meetings are held weekly and begin with refreshments at 15.45, followed by two 30 minute talks from 16.00. Talks are given by postdocs, final year PhD students and/or young PIs.
Professor Maria Leptin, Head of EMBO, will be delivering this year's FLS Anne McLaren Lecture. The lecture is to honour women in science and pays tribute to the achievements of Professor Dame Anne McLaren (pictured), 1927-2007, UCL Research Fellow 1950-52 and Director MRC Mammalian Development Unit 1974-1992.
Professor Angela Gronenborn, Head of the Department of Structural Biology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, will deliver this year's Division of Biosciences Patricia Clarke Lecture. The lecture honours women in science and pays tribute to the achievements of Patricia Clarke (pictured). Patricia, 1919-2010, was a longstanding member of staff in the Department of Biochemistry at UCL.
