Biosciences Poster Competition Winners - Ricardo and Annika

L to R: Professor Kaila Srai presents winner Ricardo Laranjeiro with his cheque and runner-up Annika Weise with her cheque.

On 26 February the Division of Biosciences ran a Research Poster Competition which offered graduate students an opportunity to meet, advertise and discuss the innovative research they are undertaking, thereby providing them with an opportunity to raise the profile of their research. The exhibition attracted interest among academics and other graduate students. Entries were displayed in the North Cloisters. Overall 49 students registered for the Competition.

Professor Kaila Srai commented that the standard of the posters was excellent and it was difficult to decide the outright winner.  We would like to congratulate all those who presented and gave a three minute talk to the judges about their posters.

First Prize (£250): Ricardo Laranjeiro

Runner-up (£100): Annika Weise

The Division of Biosciences would like to thank Dr Julia Day, Professor Ivan Gout, Professor Steve Hunt and Professor Andy Ramage for acting as judges.

Students from the Division of Biosciences were also successful in the Graduate School’s Research Poster Competition:

Brain Sciences and Life Sciences

First Prize (£400)

Luke la Hausse de Lalouvière

Runners-up (£100 each)

Anna Adams and Susan Andrew
