Congratulations to Dr Eloi Camprubi
18 July 2018
Please join us in congratulating Dr Eloi Camprubi, who last week completed his PhD thesis on “The beginnings of proto-metabolism at the origin of life in alkaline hydrothermal vents”.
Eloi is seen here after his viva with Prof Nick Lane (supervisor). The external examiner was Prof Terry Kee (Leeds) and the internal examiner was Prof Geraint Thomas (CDB).
Dr Camprubi has already taken up a post-doctoral position at the University of Utrecht, working with Inge Loes ten Kate and Paul Mason to build a high-pressure reactor to simulate conditions at the origin of life, as part of the new Dutch Origins Center. He will return to UCL for a Public PhD Viva in October 2018 (date and venue TBC).
