Now recruiting for a new Lecturer in the BioP Group

The Lecturer will be located in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, with strong links to the Faculty of Life Sciences. The Lecturer will also be a member of the cross-faculty UCL Institute for the Physics of Living Systems (IPLS) and more generally – at UCL and in London as a whole – have direct access to one of the largest and most vibrant biomedical research communities in Europe. Our overall goal is to recruit and develop exceptional early career researchers working at the interface of physics and biology, and to support them in an environment that fosters academic excellence, creativity and innovation to become leaders of the future.

Applicants should be strong early-career theoretical/computational physicists with a PhD degree, postdoctoral research experience and an established track record of collaborative work with biologists. Candidates will have research activity that spans the larger field of the biological physics of complex systems and emerging behaviours, including soft matter physics, image analysis / signal processing and dynamical systems. Successful applicants will be encouraged to develop and submit personal Fellowships from UK Research Councils as well as organisations like the Royal Society and Wellcome Trust. They will also be expected to demonstrate capability for teaching in order to contribute to graduate and undergraduate teaching in physics.
