Emma Burman wins Roosterbio Development Award
23 September 2024
Congratulations to Engineering Doctorate student Emma Burman, who has recently won the Roosterbio Development Award 2024
The RoosterBio Development Award aims to support investigators who are focused on emerging areas related to MSCs, iPSC-MSCs, immortalized MSCs, and their derivates for novel therapeutic targets and methodologies with up to $10,000 in applicable RoosterBio products.
Emma studied for a Biological Sciences degree with a year in industry at the University of Leeds (BSc IND) and worked as a research scientist at Astrea Bioseparations prior to starting her EngD at UCL. The title of her EngD, sponsored by Astrea Bioseparations, is "Nanofiber-based Adsorbent to Address Extracellular Vesicle Subpopulation Isolation" and her supervisors are Prof. Dan Bracewell and Dr Bernice Wright. Emma is the second person at UCL Biochemical Engineering to win an award from Roosterbio.
"I am looking forward to using the resources from this award to boost my investigation into the bioprocessing challenges related to extracellular vesicle manufacturing from mesenchymal stem cells." Emma Burman, September 2024
