Qasim Rafiq awarded part of £1.5m EPSRC New Industrial Systems grant

Dr Qasim Rafiq, Senior Lecturer in Bioprocessing of Regenerative, Cellular and Gene Therapy at The Department of Biochemical Engineering, together with collaborators at the Universities of Kent, Cambridge, Bath, UWE and Imperial has won a £1.5m EPSRC grant (£290k to UCL) entitled 'New Industrial Systems: Optimising Me Manufacturing Systems'. This aims to develop a proof-of-concept platform for the distributed manufacture of T-cell immunotherapies from a patient’s blood.
