Biochemical Engineering Graduate Georgina Hunter Joins WES Council

7 December 2017

Georgina graduated from the Engineering (Biochemical) MEng in August of this year with a first class honours. We are very proud to be able to share the news that she has been elected to join the council of the Women’s Engineering Society (WES). WES was set up to support women engineers to achieve their potential, to encourage and promote the education of engineering and promote diversity and equality in the workplace.

“I attended the WES student conference after being awarded a place by the UCL Student Society of Women Engineers. It was a great opportunity to meet female role models across multiple engineering disciplines and to hear their inspiring stories. I’m keen to encourage female students to not only investigate WES but to also join our society UCLWE on campus. Both of these organisations offer great support and advice to women in this field, and I look forward to hearing from you aspiring young engineers.” Said Georgina.

Her involvement with the Women’s Engineering Society began after attending the Annual Student Conference in 2013. Since then, she has volunteered for the London Cluster and attended events where she can share her passion for engineering with younger students.

Georgina is due to join Eli Lilly, in September 2018 as a graduate engineer at their biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Kinsale, Ireland.
