Research Culture Seed Fund Projects

The UCL Seed Fund supports locally led projects that improve research culture across UCL.

2025

The fund received over 75 applications from across the university, and following a highly competitive process, 25 projects were selected for funding for the 2025/26 round.

We were delighted that two projects from the CBC were selected for funding:

  • Encouraging participation in UCL-internal projects: A behaviour change approach to strengthening research culture at UCL - Dr Sadie Boniface & Chris Vucic
  • Tackling the work hours culture in academia: A behavioural systems mapping project - Dr Lucy Porter

2024

The call attracted nearly 200 applications, and following a highly competitive process, 29 projects were selected.

We were delighted that three projects from the CBC were selected for funding:

  • 'Enabling promotions for early career research staff: a behavioural science theory-based qualitative study of barriers and enablers at UCL' - Dr Sadie Boniface
  • 'Understanding barriers and enablers to diverse students completing their PhD studies at UCL – a behaviour change approach' - Rachel Perowne
  • 'Were We Lucky or Did We Do Something Right? Understanding the Art and Science of Interdisciplinary Research' - Ayşe Allison
