CBC's Co Director Fabiana Lorencatto Promoted to Professor of Behavioural & Implementation Sciences

26 June 2025

Fabiana Lorencatto promoted to Professor of Behavioural and Implementation Sciences

This promotion recognises her outstanding contributions to behavioural science, particularly in the design and implementation of interventions in healthcare settings.

Professor Lorencatto has played a pivotal role at the CBC, where she leads the behavioural science formative research, intervention development, piloting and process evaluation work packages of numerous large, multidisciplinary programmes. Her work spans a wide range of topics, including antimicrobial resistance, infection prevention and control, medication adherence, diabetic retinopathy screening, maternal health, and reducing plastic waste.

Her elevation to full professor reflects both her academic impact and her leadership at UCL and the broader behavioural science community. As a professor, she will continue to advance the CBC’s mission of first-class research and translating evidence into real-world change, mentor the next generation of researchers, and provide strategic direction across the Centre’s research, training, and consultancy activities.

Professor Susan Michie, Director of the CBC, commented:

"Congratulations to Professor Lorencatto on this well-deserved promotion - an exciting step forward for both Professor Lorencatto and the work of the Centre for Behaviour Change at UCL. It highlights the growing importance of behavioural science in addressing complex, real-world global and national challenges."
