New paper: limited effectiveness of nudge & the need for generalizability

28 July 2025

Quote from article

A new paper presents evidence that the average effectiveness of a 'nudge' (choice architecture intervention) is smaller than often reported and that there is substantial heterogeneity in their effects.

The paper elaborates on the difficulties with generalizing the effects of choice architecture interventions and makes the case for practices that enable generalizability at every step of the research process.
