NIHR PRU Team Presents Research at Evidence Week in Parliament

21 January 2025

Evidence Week brings together researchers and policymakers to ensure cutting-edge evidence informs Parliament’s work

Dr Vivi Antonopoulou and Prof Emily Oliver with Dr Simon Opher MP to discuss behavioural insights into patient-complaint handling in the NHS

CBC Senior Research Fellow Dr Vivi Antonopoulou, alongside Prof Emily Oliver (Newcastle University), participated in Evidence Week in Parliament on 21 January, representing the NIHR PRU in Behavioural and Social Sciences.

They met with MPs, Peers, parliamentary staff and the media to share their latest research on how healthcare professionals respond to patient-raised complaints in the NHS. They emphasised the need to improve the organisational culture and complaints-handling procedures in NHS hospitals and trusts and provided evidence-informed policy recommendations to promote more effective approaches to addressing patient concerns.
