Late-breaking call for abstracts

The late-breaking call for poster presentation at the 2026 Behaviour Change Conference is now closed.

We welcomed submissions showcasing work related to behaviour change across the themes of the conference, from both research, academia and those working in practice.

Key information

Submissions are now closed.

Late-breaking abstracts

These can fall under one of the following two categories:

  • Research: these typically present original research, often involving an academic researcher
  • Knowledge in practice: these typically showcase projects or products from a non-academic context (e.g. industry, charities, NGOs, government departments)

Submission limits

  • You may only submit one abstract to the late-breaking call, and only if you do not already have an abstract accepted for poster presentation at the conference.
  • There is no limit on the number of non-presenting co-author contributions.

Thematic areas

All abstracts should fall under the theme of behaviour change for health and/or sustainability. Within this we have six core thematic areas. When submitting your abstract you will be asked to select the thematic area that is most relevant. Your selection will not affect the outcome.

Thematic areas
  • Health behaviour change interventions - behaviour change for improving health and wellbeing
  • Climate change and sustainability - behaviour change for preserving the environment, mitigating negative consequences of climate change and ensuring sustainable development
  • Advancing behavioural science and its application - innovations in behaviour change theory, design, measurement and other methodologies, as well as critical issues in its advancement and application
  • Digital technologies - the use of information technology, social media, or mobile and wireless technologies in behaviour change research and interventions
  • Applications of behavioural science to policy and practice - theory, methods, and evidence to promote the implementation of research findings into health and other services, such as routine work with patients, family members, schools, communities, or organisational or policy contexts
  • Inequalities and inclusiveness - impact of inequalities on behaviour and associated outcomes, and how to tackle such effects, including inclusiveness approaches
