Clare Lewis

Clare is currently completing her doctorate studies at UCL Institute of Archaeology. Her interdisciplinary research focuses on the history of Egyptology. It applies the methodologies of the history and sociology of science to examine the development of Egyptology as an academic subject in the UK using inaugural lectures as heuristic anchors.

She believes passionately in interdisciplinary studies and has an interdisciplinary background herself. She has a Masters in Engineering, Economics and Management (University of Oxford) and spent nine years working as an Equities Analyst in the City (Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and UBS) before returning to academia gaining an MA (dist.) in Egyptology from Birkbeck College and joining UCL in 2013.

Teaching

Clare is joint module convenor for BASC0002 Interdisciplinary Research Methods and BASC0024 BASc Final Year Dissertation.
