Staff-Student Consultative Committee

Every department at UCL has a Staff-Student Consultative Committee (SSCC) that meets at least three times a year. The SSCC is a forum for discussion between staff and student academic representatives. It’s a great chance to work closely with staff to improve students’ learning experience, and a big part of how together we make education better at UCL.

The 2018/19 SSCC meetings for the BASc department will be held on:

  • Wednesday 21 November 2018
  • Wednesday 27 February 2019
  • Wednesday 8 May 2019 (this date may change once the exam timetable has been released at the end of February 2019)

All Academic Representatives are required to attend each meeting and you can find your student reps and copies of minutes from the previous meetings on the BASc Departmental Tutor Moodle page. Elections will be held in early October 2018.

Other ways you can give feedback

Students who wish to provide feedback outside of the SSCC can contact their Personal Tutor, the Departmental Tutor, Dr Graham Woodgate, or the Head of Department, Prof Carl Gombrich.

BASc-CLIE Staff-Student Consultative Committee

Since 2017/18, a BASc-CLIE Staff Student Consultative Committee has been set up to address student “concerns” over language provision. The committee meet twice a term in the first two terms and will be made up of the CLIE Director, CLIE Senior Course Unit Administrator, CLIE language coordinators, a BASc staff representative plus one BASc student representing each CLIE language. The 2018/19 BASc-CLIE SSCC meetings will be held on:

  • Tuesday 30 October 2018
  • Tuesday 27 November 2018
  • Tuesday 29 January 2019
  • Tuesday 5 March 2019
  • Tuesday 4 June 2019

Elections for the student positions for this committee will take place in early October.
