Become a future urbanist
Our Global Urbanism MASc is the first urban master’s degree to radically cut across arts, humanities, social sciences and technology studies, so you can specialise in urbanism as a challenge-driven and practice-oriented transdisciplinary field.
As a student you will study in a purpose-designed environment for transdisciplinary urban research at UCL East, in east London – an area that has undergone huge and rapid change since the 1980s and is unrivalled in the opportunity it offers to study the dynamics of urbanisation.
Through our Global Studio or London Studio pathways, you’ll engage with living laboratories in London or an international partner city — developing critical insight into urban challenges while applying your theory and creativity in real-world contexts.
I chose the Global Urbanism MASc course to transition from the arts and heritage sector to the built environment. The multidisciplinary nature of the course, along with the diverse themes covered, deeply resonated with my interests, that could help me to shift into a role where I could actively shape decision-making processes in impoverished urban areas, both in the UK and internationally.
