Overview
This project aims to test the ESGAP framework in two developing countries, Kenya and Viet Nam, alongside the UN “Common Country Assessments”, and to use these pilots to better integrate strong sustainability principles in global environmental sustainability assessments, such as those performed by UNEP in the “Measuring Progress” series of reports.
This project will deliver following ultimate results:
• A basic-best accessible-pilot testing of the Strong Environmental Sustainability (SES) Index production in Viet Nam and Kenya
• A better knowledge the state of the environment and on the feasibility of environmental sustainability assessments in Viet Nam and Kenya;
The integration of strong sustainability principles in global assessments of environmental sustainability, and a strong theoretical framework for the analysis behind the “Measuring Progress” series of report edited by UNEP.

- Impact
- Two stakeholder workshops have been held in each pilot country with the aim of engaging with the domestic science and policy-making communities, and promoting the uptake of the ESGAP by national environmental reporting agencies.
