Achim Steiner, the recently retired Executive Director of the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and now Director of the Oxford Martin School at Oxford University, was our guest speaker at this term's public lecture.
Disruptive Innovation Festival, 7-25 November
UCL ISR has been very active at this year's Disruption Innovation Festival hosted by The Ellen MacArthur Foundation. The sessions focused on the circular economy and demonstrate how people worldwide are challenging the current 'take, make and dispose' economic model.
UCL Energy & Resource Economics Group seminar by Prof Michael Grubb, 29 November
Prof Grubb presented on his book 'Planetary Economics' which covers the links between the 3 pillars of energy policy and economic development and introduces a whole new perspective on the growth of countries by highlighting the crucial contribution of energy systems and policy.
