Research summary
Anthony is working on energy systems policy, energy modelling, decarbonisation strategies and blockchain technologies. He is very interested in reducing the negative externalities of energy systems, especially in transportation and logistics. Currently, he is working on the characterisation of a Green Hydrogen Standard and a hydrogen guarantees of origin scheme; power interconnection modelling (RESTLESS project) and on European decarbonisation strategies (DEEDS project).
During his EPSRC funded EngD, Anthony developed a framework for the optimisation of heavy goods vehicles' configurations to minimise GHG emissions cost-efficiently considering risk profiles. He has expertise in metaheuristics models, multi-criteria decision analyses, 3D vehicles modelling and simulations, management of automotive low carbon technologies live trials and carbon accounting.
Teaching summary
Anthony is supervising students working on determining the role of distributed ledger technologies in the markets of guarantees of origin for renewable energy, assessing their costs and GHG emissions. He is also supervising several students researching the role of hydrogen and fuel cells in different niche applications such as construction sites and transportation.
Anthony is visiting fellow at the University of Southampton where he has taught air quality, noise and carbon emissions modelling in the MSc in Transportation Planning & Engineering', as well as sustainable transport and hydrogen economy in the BSc(Hons) in Environmental Sciences.
