PhD Research Projects 2025 is the nineteenth annual conference and exhibition of doctoral research at The Bartlett School of Architecture.

The accompanying publication, edited by Dr Stylianos Giamarelos, Nyima Murray and Alberto Fernández González, presents work from students across all five doctoral streams: Architectural Design MPhil/PhD, Architectural & Urban History & Theory MPhil/PhD, Architectural Space & Computation MPhil/PhD, Architecture & Digital Theory MPhil/PhD, and Architectural Practice MPhil/PhD.

Leading to a PhD in Architecture, The Bartlett School of Architecture’s doctoral programmes encourage originality and creativity. Over 120 students are currently enrolled, and the range of research subjects undertaken is broad. This year’s projects explore themes such as the role of domestic space in the construction of queer identity, the influence of evolutionary theory on computational design, and how vernacular co-building can be a way of writing new Indigenous architectural histories.

A digital edition of the book is available to read for free via Issuu. Physical copies will be available at our Bloomsbury campus, 22 Gordon Street from 25 February onwards.
