A global model of human migration
The United Nations (UN) defines human migration as the movement of people from one place in the world to another for the purpose of taking up permanent or semipermanent residence, usually across a political boundary.
There are many types of migration including:
- Urbanisation
- Family reunification
- Impelled or reluctant migration
- Labour migration
- Student migration
- Forced migration
- Return migration
- Chain migration
- Seasonal migration
