Amal Appadan
Amal Appadan is a student in the 2025-26 cohort of UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP)'s Master of Public Administration (MPA).
Before joining the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), in 2019, Amal worked as a Decision Scientist at Mu Sigma Inc. and a Data Analyst at Tesco Bengaluru. Since 2019, at the Financial Inclusion and Development Department, RBI, Amal has focused on creating policies that benefit vulnerable sections of society and improve financial inclusion, specifically in relation to the farm sector. While resistance to change is a necessity borne out of pragmatism, Amal's long-term goal is to propose innovative solutions to counter policy inertia within RBI, enabling institutional structures to advance through new-age technologies.
