SEA Reflective Space in Mexico: Green industrial policy and new development models.
January 24th 2025
On 24 January 2025, the Strategic Economics Alliance launched its first Reflective Space: closed-door sessions where women economists discuss in a trusted environment the most pressing topics of contemporary policy to question and propose alternative ways of thinking about the economy to pursue inclusive and sustainable outcomes.
The session in Mexico City— co-hosted by Gabriela Dutrénit, researcher and coordinator of the postgraduate program in Economics, Management and Innovation Policies at UAM — brought together 30 female economists to examine and challenge prevailing economic paradigms. Attendees engaged in candid discussions, sharing insights on how outdated economic theories have often sidelined critical perspectives needed to address today’s inequities.
