Naris Sungpairoj is a PhD student at the Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose (IIPP). He has a BA in Political Science (International Relations) from Chulalongkorn University and an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge.

Before joining the Institute, he worked for the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI), a non-government policy think-tank based in Bangkok, Thailand, as a policy researcher. His work, at the time, concentrated on Thailand’s industrial policies, industrial strategies, and business opportunities for Thai companies in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
 

Research summary

Currently, his PhD research focusses on the relationship between public capacity and innovation policies and the roles of the state in the co-development process of these two elements.
