Zero Carbon Realities: Are Zero-Carbon Homes a Reality?

Zero Carbon Realities: Are Zero-Carbon Homes a Reality? was funded by UCL Grand Challenges.

Zero Carbon Realities

Dr Joanna Williams' UCL Grand Challenge project "Zero-Carbon Realities: Are Zero-Carbon Homes a Reality?" is cutting new ground in the area of regulatory analysis and the study of behavioural norms of best practice adoption and knowledge transfer.

The UK Department of Communities and Local Government set a global precedent in 2006 with the introduction of policy to regulate all new communities to be zero carbon by 2016.

By taking stock of the factors currently influencing the delivery of zero-carbon homes in the UK and compiling an international comparison of policy instruments, processes and stakeholders involved in delivery such developments in Europe and the United States, Dr Williams aims to reach solid conclusions on the transferability of these solutions to the UK
