Susan Moore and Justinien Tribillon to represent BSP at the Venice Biennale of Architecture 2021

26 April 2021

PhD Candidate and Tutor, Justinien Tribillon, will represent the Bartlett School of Planning at the Venice Biennale of Architecture 2021 opening this May.

Venice

Justinien was invited by Hashim Sarkis, curator of the Biennale and Dean of the School of Architecture and Planning at MIT to contribute a Station, a research-based installation that supports the themes of the Biennale. Justinien will propose the project ‘Welcome to Borderland’ which explores the reality of border away from the geographical lines that define it via the prism of plants. It builds on the research on migration Justinien has been carrying out since 2016 as co-founder and editor of Migrant Journal. More information on the project will be made available once the Biennale opens on 22 May. Justinien’s participation is possible thanks to the support of The Bartlett Faculty of the Built Environment.

Dr Susan Moore has also been invited to participate in the Austria Pavillion along with her colleague from Birkbeck, Dr Scott Rodgers. They are contributing a series of blogs and images on Platform Urbanism. See more on the conference website.

The 17th International Architecture Exhibition will run 22 May to 21 November 2021, curated by architect and scholar Hashim Sarkis.

The world is putting new challenges in front of architecture - stated Sarkis. I look forward to working with participating architects from around the world to imagine together how we are going to rise to these challenges. - Hashim Sarkis
