3 June 2016
Planning students Hilary Chan (BSc Planning and Real Estate) and Ki Yan Tsang (BSc Urban Planning, Design and Management) were rewarded for their work and achievements at the regional final of the Association of Women in Property (WiP) 2016 National Student Awards on 1st June.
Hilary and Ki Yan were nominated as regional finalists at the awards, which recognise potential at a very early stage in the education and training process and help to establish a vital link between higher education and industry. Hilary was one of three shortlisted nominees awarded a special commendation for her entry.
The Association of Women in Property (WiP) works with businesses and other industry organisations to increase the representation of women in the property and construction industry workforce. The National Student Awards form part of WiP's commitment to nurturing aspiring talent in our schools and universities and encouraging girls and young women to consider a career in property and construction.
Universities across the UK nominated their best students, who submitted CVs and a piece of coursework as part of the judging process. The regional finalists were decided following an interview with a panel of high profile regional judges drawn from industry and higher education.
The regional final of the WiP National Student Awards was previously won by Bartlett School of Planning alumnus Lucy Godwin in 2014.
